Iglesia de San José: Located in the center of Barranco Hondo, it houses the images of St Joseph, St Sebastian, and Our Lady of Dolores, among others, and whose images are honored during the corresponding festivities. The local footpath SL-TF 299 Lomo El Centeno starts from this square. It leads to Las Lagunetas Protected Landscape, where some pine trees and the «Madre del Agua» fountain can be found. It was used in the past by many inhabitants of Barranco Hondo and some villages in the north of the island. The water gallery Madre del Agua Next is next to this place. Although it is now walled up, a small trickle of drinking water still flows.
El Picacho lookout: It is located on the Montaña del Castillo, a volcano that dominates the upper area of Barranco Hondo. It can be reached by road. Here, visitors can enjoy good panoramic views of Tenerife’s south-east, the slopes of Anaga, and part of the Güímar Valley.
